A Historic Year of Support
Our fiscal year closed on solid footing, thanks to the most generous individual support the Observatory has seen in a decade.

Blue Hill Observatory & Science Center closed its fiscal year on August 31 in a positive financial position. It was a year of real momentum, and it was made possible by you.
This year also brought the largest individual gifts the Observatory has received in the past ten years. That generosity is already at work: keeping trained observers on the summit every day, expanding school programs, and caring for a National Historic Landmark that has recorded the weather without interruption since 1885.
What your support made possible
Over the past year, your gifts helped us welcome a new Board of Trustees, add a Chief of Staff to our team, launch live cameras on the summit, expand visiting hours, and serve more school groups than ever. They also carried the record through one of the hottest summers and one of the most extreme storms in its history.
The record has not missed a day since 1885. Every member, donor, and volunteer is part of the reason why.
Looking ahead
Our new fiscal year began September 1. With a strong foundation in place, we are focused on growing education programs, preserving and digitizing the historic record, and planning for the Observatory’s 150th anniversary in 2035. Thank you for being part of this next chapter.
