WELL ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES AS WE ENTER NOVEMBER….
We may have flipped the calendar to November and changed the
clocks back to “winter” time, but Mother Nature is having other
ideas as more of a late September/early October pattern settles
in for the first week of this new month.
Sunshine has been the theme today, being filtered slightly by
high cirrus clouds. With a southwest flow, temperatures have
really ramped up from their chilly positioning early this morning.
As mentioned, temperatures were chilly early this morning, albeit
not as cold as the past couple of mornings. Nonetheless, readings
in the mid 40s quickly rose to the upper 60s to near 70F by early
this afternoon. This is solidly around 15 degrees above normal!
Dew point values have risen slightly from the upper 30s this
morning to the low 40s early this afternoon.
Winds have generally been westerly all day. They were a bit gusty
during the wee hours of the morning before slackening off through
most of the remaining morning hours. While not overly strong this
afternoon, they have picked up a little bit with some mixing from
aloft. The average speed for the day so far is around 12mph. The
peak gust for the day so far is 25mph, which occurred just after
1:15am this morning.
Visibility is a bit more restricted today than over the weekend,
with the view sitting at around 60 miles all day. Still quite
respectable though!
The maximum temperature so far today is 69F, which is 14 degrees
above the normal high of 55F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 45F, which is 7 degrees above the normal low of 38F.
