Blue Hill Observatory & Science Center

Art and Community

Where art, science, and community meet on Great Blue Hill.

Art, science, and community on the Hill

Blue Hill Observatory & Science Center has measured the sky since 1885. It has also long drawn artists, neighbors, and visitors who want to see that record in new ways. This section brings together the creative work that happens here and the community that surrounds it.

Featured program

Artist-in-Residence Program

Seasonal residencies pair artists with our Observers, instruments, and archive. Each residency ends with work shared on site and online, and the work stays on this website long after.
